Harry Potter Dinner Party

This past weekend we celebrated a special birthday in our house. One of my girls turned 10 and she wanted a Harry Potter Party. I love throwing any kind parties for clients and friends but I absolutely love it when I do a party for one of my own kids.

For the invitations we wrote a letter to each girl like the one Harry Potter received from Hogwarts and we included Marauder’s Map as well. I sealed each like a scroll and tied them to a white balloon and my daughter drew an owl on the balloon and we hand delivered each invitation.

IMG_9883Each child received a wand a spell book when they arrived. My wonderful husband spent a Saturday to hand make all the wands. They were a big hit. We have gotten requests from others who want a wand as well. Looks like we will be making some more and my husbands got ideas on how to improve them.

The dinning room was decorated appropriately with some potions, spider china, crystals and of course floating candles just like in the Great Hall. After dinner the girls settled in to watch Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.

One thing I did not snap a picture of was our entry way. We covered the front door with brick paper and posted a Hogwarts Express 9 3/4 Train sign above the door.

The Sorting Hat was perched on the foyer table just before the girls walked down the hallway where the school banners were on display.

Each girl went home with a bottle of Butter Beer (Butterscotch Cream Soda) 2 chocolate frogs and a broom pencil.

Christmas Dinner Party 2012

Saturday was the annual Christmas Dinner Party. It was a smashing success! One of the great things about this years event was I hired chefs to take care of the food. It was nice not doing the meal planning and all the cooking. I could not have made a better choice. It was so fun to have the chefs and the food was amazing. I am excited about a continued friendship and working relationship with Chef Jayson and Chef Janelle Reynolds.

Minnie Mouse Bow-tique

This past weekend an adorable 4-year-old had a Minnie Mouse party.

The kids did a few crafts the mom got from Disney Jr. The girls made butterfly mobile and headband bows.  It was a morning party so morning pastries and drinks were for snacking and then some cute Minnie cupcakes.

Love how my tier is leaning? The bottom one was made funky. I just noticed it at the party.

ETC Creative Designs made the Birthday Girls Minnie dress.

I loved using my old metal coke crates and swim baskets. I once thought about spray painting them but I love the look of the old and I can decorate it to go with any theme or decor with just a few embellishments.

Green Lantern & The Justice League

Saturday’s party could not have been better. It was so fun to do, be at, and I know each child had a blast.

Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman were in attendance. Each child, upon arriving, chose a Super Hero cape and mask. Flash was the game ringleader and made sure all the kiddos got plenty of excercise. For those members of the Justice League who could not make it I got some “stand ins”.

Green Lantern Invitation

Good morning!

I finally completed all the invitations for the upcoming Green Lantern Party. They were pretty simple and easy. However, cutting them all out with an Exact-o knife left my fingers with cramps.

Snapshots of the Orange Crush Party

This past weekend’s slumber paty was low key and a hit with the birthday girl. No doubt one of the easiest parties I have done. The client needed just a few decorations. My favorite was the banner of oranges.

Pizza was delivered, client made an orage and white cake and I put together the midnight snack tray for her. All orange foods!

Slumber Party

Last week I whipped up a cute little invitation for a slumber party. I just love the results and my sweet little client was ecstatic. I think any young girls would love to receive these invites and she would want to have her own party so she can send them to her friends.

Christmas Party Invitation

A simple, yet, festive way to send Christmas to the mailbox.

Here is a party invitation. I think it is going to be so much fun for the guests to get their mail. Who would not love mail when it comes with fun inside!

No peeking inside! That’s a surprise. The host did not want me to reveal any info in case the guests stumble upon my post!

So what Christmas parties are you planning? Time is passing fast and we only have 2 1/2 weeks until Thanksgiving!

Happy Holiday Season!
